The couple, who married in November 2009, welcomed their baby girl on Dec. 26 and were quickly smitten.

“Violet’s hair color needs to be bottled… perfectly strawberry blonde.” Baylin, 28, Tweeted earlier this week.

Steven Tyler Proposes New Senate Bill in Hawaii

02/08/2013 at 10:45 AM EST

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Bieber have spoken out about the need for rules and regulations surrounding the paparazzi – most recently after a paparazzo was killed in a tragic accident.

Now, Steven Tyler is adding his voice to the mix.

The rock star and American Idol alum, 64, has proposed Hawaii Senate Bill 465 – now dubbed the Steven Tyler Act – which the would provide a legal remedy for celebrities photographed while engaged in "personal or familial activity" and have a reasonable expectation of privacy, according to a press release obtained by PEOPLE Friday.

"The paradise of Hawaii is a magnet for celebrities who just want a peaceful vacation," says Tyler. "As a person in the public eye, I know the paparazzi are there and we have to accept that. But when they intrude into our private space, disregard our safety and the safety of others, that crosses a serious line that shouldn't be ignored."

The bill will be presented in a Senate hearing in Honolulu, Hawaii. It is currently being endorsed by two-thirds of the Senate.

Diem Brown Reacts to Cancer-Free News

In her PEOPLE.com blog, Diem Brown, the Real World/Road Rules Challenge contestant recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer for the second time, opens up about her desire for a child and the ups and downs of cancer and fertility procedures.

Getting the call that changes your life ... literally!

I have been in this intense limbo ever since Jan. 4 when my CT Scan showed signs of a mass in my liver, which meant that there was a possible cancer spread.

Being a "veteran" of this now, I understood the doctors' concern because if cancer had spread into my liver, it was more than likely transferred by a lymph node – meaning the cancer could also be in other parts of my body.

Having that much cancer spread seemingly all throughout your body is terrifying! I felt as if I was placed in some sort of cancer maze, where as soon as I was close to an exit, a wall would quickly slam down keeping me stuck inside.

As each day passed and I hadn't gotten an answer from my liver scan, I could feel the light get dimmer and my cancer maze felt never ending.

But then the call came – the call that made me feel like I had a map leading me out of my maze, doors started lifting up and I was finally let free.

The spot in my liver caused some major havoc in my world but who the H-E-double hockey sticks cares ... because with that call I came to find out that the MRI showed it wasn't cancerous! Ahhhhh thank God!!!!

That first breath you let out when you get good news feels almost stolen. Your entire body gets weak as if you were holding up this 100-lb. weight over your head and you've finally been told you could drop it. You feel free! Absolutely freaking free!

You are so used to getting the call that starts with "sorry to tell you this but I have some bad news..." that you then desperately scramble for ways to pump yourself back up to fight. However, this time my doctor's call was different and the call became my release button – my permission to breathe and to keep on breathing!

When you're battling cancer and you hear that your blood results haven't moved since day one of chemo and a scan shows the possibility of a spread, you start thinking, "Come on! Who upstairs doesn't want me down here? Um, God, we need to have a talk!" I'm just playing, but I find I can joke with God when I pray so he doesn't mind that line of questioning.

I've learned so much through all of this and it's so weird how much clarity you can have looking back. I remember back in April 2012 when I first acknowledged the cyst – I was talking to my girlfriends and flat out said, "I'm scared ... I don't wanna do this again. I can't do this again."

I wasn't trying to be dramatic as I honestly felt I didn't have it in me to go through it all again. In 2011, I had finally felt back to my pre-2005 cancer self and then boom, I find out I have to start the whole "cancer thing" all over again ... really?

Overwhelmed but Optimistic

Everything seemed overwhelming, everything seemed too much to take in. The road seemed like this never-ending trail of bad news of things I was scared to do or confront. Realizing your mortality, undergoing more surgeries, coping with the loss of fertility, menopause, and my dreaded relationship with chemo's side effects.

I saw all of the above as an overwhelming and life-altering mountain standing smack dab in front of me. Wishing that cancer mountain wasn't there wouldn't make it go away. I knew that the best way to climb any impossible looking mountain is with small steps not giant leaps. So I tried to NOT combine all of the tasks in my head but instead address the most pressing issues one at a time.

Fertility was my first concern and now I'm happier than I was BEFORE I even had cancer in 2005. I have 10 eggs in some freezer somewhere and no matter what happens in my future no one can take those away from me – they're all mine, dang it, and I will have me some babies!

My situation is not uncommon as we have all been there, standing before what seems an impossible overwhelming battle. We have all gotten to today by pressing forward through our own hardships.

I know some, if not most, of you have experienced getting to the top of your impossible mountain and felt that euphoric rush overcome your body. You can't help but smile with the goofiest grin in the world because you accomplished something you never wanted to do or ever wanted to do again ... but you didn't break. You beat it!

I love the quote, "The strongest steel has to go through the hottest fire." I repeated that quote to myself whenever the questions of "why me?" started to creep into my mindset.

You might not like the cards you have been dealt, but you are who you are because of them. You get a bad hand and it's your choice how you can play it, but I promise if you choose not to fold, you will come out better than you could ever possibly imagine.

The feeling I have right now, at this very moment ... of finally getting my good news is the BIGGEST high in the world and the best reward for all the turmoil of a bad hand.

I want to scream, "I am cancer free!" but second-time-around cancers are a trickier bird. I won't have that specific 100 percent clear moment because of the type of cancer I have. However, that doesn't mean I can't celebrate.

Celebrating My Remission

Would I like to have had some sort of marker or test that showed the chemo fought off everything? Of course! I remember the first time I had cancer, I loved seeing my CA125 blood test numbers go from 500 to 23 by the end of all my chemo treatments because it showed me the progress of it killing the cancer.

Would I like to have a CT scan of my ovary area that showed a change from before and after chemo? Of course! But, as a result of my four surgeries, there is so much scar tissue in that area that a clear ovary scan is impossible.

So although there is no actual test to give me that gives me the 100 percent cancer-free assurance that I had back in 2006, I feel I can celebrate remission just the same. I have done every treatment the doctor has ordered, done every test, every scan and with these clear liver results, I have faith that my treatment worked.

I'm confident in my "cancer-free version" even without a test that exactly proves so. I am celebrating this moment and am ecstatic to say I'm in remission! I may have a few treatments here and there but I'm done with the fear ... I beat the sucker once again!

I know other patients still in their fight can't wait to hear those four glorious words: "You are in remission." Those four lil' words make you feel like you got a new clean slate and are free to do whatever you want in life.

I think of y'all fighting and I promise I'm not just taking my good news liver results and peace out of the patient world. My goal in life has shifted and I want nothing more than to make the road of the patient and the caregiver less ominous. I want to help and I won't stop until I accomplish my goal.

I know how lucky I am and I do not take that for granted! I started a company for patients and their loved ones called MedGift back in 2006 while going through my first battle with ovarian cancer. Now in 2013, I have found things I want to do to make MedGift better and it's all because of the experiences I have had during this second cancer fight. I am on fire with a passion that has never been more intense. I can't wait for y'all to see what I'm up to!

This is my cancer-free version! I am not living in the fear of "What if they didn't get it all?" or "How do they know if there is no test I can do?"

Instead I'm looking out in front of me, clean liver scan in hand screaming, "I'm done! Hello, you beautiful remission you! Now let's go kick some booty because I'm free."

Kristin Cavallari: Cam's Putting His New Teeth to Good Use

Kristin Cavallari: Camden's Teeth
Brian Lindensmith/PatrickMcMullan.com/Sipa

Kristin Cavallari is one lucky mom!

The former reality star says that even though son Camden Jack is currently teething, he hasn’t been crying at all.

“He’s such a good baby,” Cavallari, 26, tells PEOPLE while promoting her new GlamBoutique jewelry line.

“I was just getting curious, so I put my finger in his mouth to feel around. I felt it and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ We wouldn’t have even known that he was getting his first tooth [otherwise].”

Turns out Cam isn’t wasting any time making use of his brand new assets.

“He started eating food a couple of weeks ago, which has been so much fun,” explains Cavallari.

“He’s had everything: peas, broccoli, zucchini, carrots and avocados. He absolutely loves avocados!”

The designer, who also has a line of footwear through Chinese Laundry, says her baby boy is starting to show his personality — and he’s a perfect mix of her and her fiancé Jay Cutler.

“He’s a really good combination,” she notes. “He’s always laughing and smiling, and in a good mood unless he’s tired, which is like me! The only way to describe him is the word ‘sweetheart.’”

While she’s loving motherhood, Cavallari is looking forward to spending some quality time with her Chicago Bears quarterback beau on Valentine’s Day.

“I’m just going to cook dinner. It’s going to be a very low-key, romantic evening, which — for being parents — sounds amazing to both of us,” she jokes. “[We're looking forward to] being in bed early and getting a good night’s sleep!”

Michael Douglas Has Dating Advice for His Son: Be Courteous

Michael Douglas Dating Advice for Son
MediaPunch Inc/Rex USA

For most parents, nothing is scarier than the idea of their teen starting to date — even if you’re Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, whose 12-year-old son Dylan is entering that arena.

“I’m trying to digest it all, and I’m just trying to remember what it’s like to be in a teenage romance,” Douglas, 68, told PEOPLE at Thursday’s New York premiere of Zeta-Jones’s new film Side Effects, sponsored by Cinema Society and Michael Kors.

“And what I remember scares me as a father!”

Actually, the doting dad says he set relaxed dating rules for Dylan, because his son is so responsible.

“I’m not the over-protective dad,” says the Oscar winner. “Dylan is a great kid and I trust him. He’s having fun and conducting himself very well.”

And does the star of HBO’s Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra — who gets to kiss Matt Damon onscreen — determine which girls Dylan can or cannot date?

“I don’t have much say in it. I keep my mouth shut,” said Douglas. “But I like his choices so far.”

Douglas, who has been happily married to Zeta-Jones, 43, for 12 years, has one piece of advice to give to his son about courting women: always be courteous.

“Unsolicited advice is a hostile gesture. I remembered that from a long time ago,” he says with a laugh. “But I want him to know to always be polite and respectful and just don’t try to hard. If he asks me for specific advice, I’ll have a long talk with him.”

As for his own relationship with Zeta-Jones, “Catherine and I are doing well,” he said. “She is more beautiful than ever inside and out. I support her with everything and she is simply the best.”

For Hollywood, Super Bowl weekend is one big party, and they don't disappoint.

On Saturday night, Lil Wayne performed at a GQ, Lacoste and Mercedes-Benz hosted party at the Elms Mansion in New Orleans. Among the fans on hand was model Kate Upton, who posed for photos in front of her GQ cover and stood on a couch to get a better view of Lil Wayne's show, an onlooker tells PEOPLE.

Even Paul McCartney and wife Nancy Shevell were spotted "rushing through the backstage area to catch the end of his performance," the source adds.

At Playboy's Super Bowl Party presented by Crown Royal, Neil Patrick Harris, Anna Faris and Jeremy Piven mingled in the VIP area.

David Arquette was also in attendance and couldn't hide his enthusiasm for B.o.B. – jumping on stage during his performance!

Later that night, the Audi Forum kept the party going with deejay sets by Solange Knowles and Diplo. Guests included Modern Family's Sofia Vergara, Stacy Keibler, Jeremy Renner, Chace Crawford, Hunger Games's Josh Hutcherson, Ashley Greene, Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul and more.

Knowles – who was dressed in all white – was overheard talking about how excited she was to see her sister Beyoncé's halftime show.

Keibler – who was once a Baltimore Ravens cheerleader – stopped by Vergara's table to say hello and pose for photos together. Later, Keibler and Paul they discovered they had a mutual pal and became fast friends. Meanwhile, Paul was also "excited" to see Crawford, who was having a guys night with Hutcherson, a source says.

A Visual Guide to the Right and (Oh, So) Wrong Way to Bare Your Midriff

What made its way on our fashion radar this week? A classic pattern that’s making a strong comeback and a sweater style we haven’t worn since middle school. We expect to see more of these looks at all the various awards season parties and events. What we hope we don’t spot: A certain frock that reveals way too much skin.

Up: Polka Dots. The retro print made a major comeback this week. Emmy Rossum stepped out in a navy-and-white Stop Staring number (it’s just $170!) and Amy Adams slipped into an elegant black-and-white peplum Jenny Packham design.

Up: Cropped Sweaters. We prayed this moment wouldn’t happen but it looks like ab-baring tops are back and celebs like Dakota Fanning, Amanda Seyfried and Jessica Biel are wearing them with everything from skirts to skinnies. If you don’t have a six-pack, pair a shrunken sweater with a high-waisted bottom or layer over a longer shirt like Biel did.

Down: X-Rated Slits. Actresses take note: Slits that show this much skin are best left for the legs. And that’s why we don’t expect to see stars sporting awkward cleavage slashes like Adrienne Bailon’s anytime soon. (Not to mention party dresses with clunky booties!)

For more on up-and-coming trends, check out our thoughts on furry accents, slits and red accessories.

Ashlee Simpson Praises Sister Jessica as a 'Great Pregnant Lady' and Mom

02/01/2013 at 11:00 AM EST

Ashlee Simpson has nothing but praise for her sister Jessica as a great mom – and as a mom-to-be.

"Jess is awesome," Simpson told PEOPLE in the way of a pregnancy update on her sister, who's expecting her second child. "I think we both equally look up to each other ... [She's] my big sister and I'm proud of her."

"And she's a great mom – and a great pregnant lady," Ashlee continued.

The younger Simpson, 28, joined her gal pals for a night out Thursday at Los Angeles's Pink Taco for a Svedka vodka-sponsored "Throwback Thursday" party, featuring performances by acts including All-4-One and Debbie Gibson.

There she rocked out to '90s tunes with her cousin, her best friend and her publicist, wearing a skintight red mini-dress with an embellished collar, her blonde hair pulled up high in a sleek top-knot. She took to the floor to slow dance with a friend and then passionately belted out retro tunes.

Simpson also told PEOPLE her son Bronx has bonded nicely with Aunt Jessica, 32, and her daughter Maxwell, 8 months.

"Bronx loves her, Bronx loves Maxwell, we're all there," she said of their growing extended family as a new baby is on the way and Jessica works to create a new TV show based on her life.

"She's got all our support, naturally, but she's a strong woman," said Ashlee. "[She's a] woman to look up to and a big sister I'm proud of."

Bronx, she added, is also happy about welcoming another baby into their family.

"He's excited for the new one!" Simpson said.

Diem Brown Blogs: How I Cope With My Anxiety

01/31/2013 at 10:00 AM EST

In her PEOPLE.com blog, Diem Brown, the Real World/Road Rules Challenge contestant recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer for the second time, opens up about her desire for a child and the ups and downs of cancer and fertility procedures.

The waiting game.

We have the technology to put a man on the moon, and the President and the Pope Tweet us in real-time updates. But when it comes to medical test results, it feels as if things move at a snail's pace. After waiting since Jan. 4 to supposedly find out on Jan. 25 about the "suspicious," "concerning" spot on my liver after my last CT scan, I come to find out these test results aren't as instant as I had imagined.

The waiting game is one that can – no lie – drive you mad! If I allow my anxiety to take control, I can immediately feel the tension all around me like a boa constrictor that is seemingly taking up the slack every time I let out an exasperated breath.

I know it hasn't been that long since Jan. 25, but it's been a long time in my mind, as I've been waiting since Jan. 4 to hear if I am in the final chapter of this cancer book or am I just starting "book one" of a very long series.

This may seem funny, but I have the same coping mechanism when I'm pissed off as when I'm anxious ... I organize and clean! So weird, I know, especially because, I swear, my dad, boyfriend and sister piss me off sometimes just to get me into cleaning mode! I guess that, for me, organizing is a way to be productive and in control when I feel I have neither.

Diem Brown Blogs: How I Cope With My Anxiety

Diem Brown

Matt Sayles / Invision

I will rearrange a whole apartment, changing the furniture direction in every room. I will raid the "junk" drawers, coat closets, filing cabinets, garages and anything else that will take me at least a good half-day to accomplish. This, my friends has becomes my magic anxiety release pill.

Funny enough, because it's tax season now, I started making piles of old receipts I found in some random purse. Then, glancing up at the TV, I saw the most amazing aid to my crazy arsenal ... The NeatDesk. It was like a beautiful bright light was shining directly on my TV in between Bravo Housewives marathons. So, logically, I bought the machine and now I'm on a scanning mission!

I want to get all my medical crap in order – including bills, test results, prescription receipts, doctor's notes, etc. so I am using this NeatDesk thingamajig and getting some order and control back into my weird medical world.

I have also realized (especially as I read my logic) that stress kept indoors can make ya even more crazy than you have already become. That said, I've been trying to say yes to everything and get my compulsive booty outdoors to socialize with actual people other than those lovely ladies that reign on my TV.

I was so wrapped up and content in my apartment; my comfort with my weird organizing ways had turned me into a hermit. Girls' nights in are amazing but ... you need to get out!

I think winter in general can have that "hermit" effect on most people, as you tend to get so lazy and make excuses to not do things because you are too cold or feel just plain winter frumpy.

But since I realized and addressed my lazy, crazy ways instead of fretting about what news my test results will bring, I am choosing the word "yes!"

Diem Brown Blogs: How I Cope With My Anxiety

Diem Brown

Matt Sayles / Invision

I have always believed in the power of positive thinking, but sometimes when you have gotten knocked down or disheartened it takes more effort to stick with the positive mindset. So for that I say follow that old Jim Carrey movie and say "yes" to whatever social offers are out there. Being social, laughing, dancing, having fun, etc. helps you not dwell on a test result or an outcome that you have no control over.

I hate the waiting game but I'm not going to let the waiting game chain me to my crazy mind and allow me to think of the negative "what ifs." That's just not me. However, as humans, those negative thoughts relentlessly try to creep into your mindset ... but, as the powerful human that you are, you have the power of choice and can choose to turn that negative channel off.

Whether you need to distract yourself with other projects to keep your mind at ease or make yourself be social (friends, support chat rooms, dates, etc.) give yourself the green light to have fun and enjoy the moment.

The news will eventually come, no matter what you do while you wait. If it's bad news, have faith you can handle it. If it's good news, you will kick yourself for stressing over something nonexistent.

As I "patiently" wait for my results to come in, I'm feeling good! I'm visualizing the scan being clear and imagining my doc saying I am at the finish line to my second bout with cancer. I just need him to call me – stat – before I start knocking on neighbors' doors asking if they want their closets cleaned!

Thank you all so very much for your comments, prayers and Tweets. I have never felt more supported in my life and I'm very aware of how very lucky I am to have y'all back me. Thank you and hope you are all having a wonderful week!

Beyoncé Poses as Sexy Referee Ahead of Super Bowl Performance

01/30/2013 at 11:00 AM EST

She's calling the shots!

As anticipation builds for her Super Bowl XLVII halftime show on Sunday, Beyoncé has posted another photo of herself on her Tumblr – this time as a sexy NFL referee.

Sort of. She also seems to be running the ball ... in stiletto, thigh-high leather boots.

While the the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers take a breather from their game, it's safe to say that all eyes will be on Beyoncé after a controversy erupted over her possibly lip-synching the National Anthem at the presidential Inauguration.

There's also a rumored Destiny's Child reunion happening at halftime, though whether Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams will join Beyoncé on Sunday is disputed.

The singer, 31, has not commented on either situation, but she will attend a Super Bowl halftime show press conference on Thursday at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

A lovely 80-degree day in Austin, Texas, was just what Livingston McConaughey needed for a nice stroll in the park.

Camila and Matthew McConaughey's newborn son enjoyed an outing with mom on Sunday – the first glimpse of the couple's third child, who was born Dec. 28.

Camila, who celebrated her 30th birthday on Jan. 28, shared her happiness via Twitter, writing, "Today I am 30 years old, Livingston is 30 days old and I'm blessed with 3 healthy children...I am so thankful and full of joy!"

At the park on Sunday, she mostly kept Livingston covered in a light blanket, and was seen kissing the boy on the head.

Camila, meanwhile, was dressed comfortably in a white shirt, black leggings, sneakers and dark sunglasses.

Matthew was also out and about in Austin on Sunday, looking well on his way back from his dramatic weight loss for a movie role.

Michelle Williams Says Reports of Destiny's Child Super Bowl Reunion Are Not True

Are they or aren't they?

Fans of Destiny's Child may be wondering where Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams will be at the Super Bowl halftime show.

While Beyoncé has posted photos of her rehearsals for the big performance, Williams says reports of a reunion for the pop group are merely unconfirmed rumors – and that they're "not true."

"I'm going to be in the musical Fela!," she told WRUG Media in a recent interview. "I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it's not true."

Williams is headlining a world tour of the Tony Award-winning show, which kicks off Tuesday in Washington, D.C. According to the show's website, there are two performances of Fela! at D.C.'s Sidney Harman Hall, at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday, which would make it difficult to be in New Orleans for the game without help from an understudy.

"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry," Williams said of the reunion rumors. "But we did record a song with each other before the holidays."

Destiny's Child – Love Songs, a greatest hits compilation of the group's most romantic recordings set for release Tuesday, will feature a new song, "Nuclear," their first in eight years.

But Williams did hint that a reunion outside the recording studio may still happen.

"We have talked about it," she said. "You know, one day soon."

The Surprising Style Item Adam Levine Likes to Wear

Adam Levine Men's HealthCourtesy Men’s Health

While some stars are repeat Fashion Faceoff offenders (we’re looking at you, Kim Kardashian), Adam Levine is determined to never be one of them. (Though the man really never should say never.)

In fact, his desire to have singular style is so strong that he won’t even pick up a plain old tee at a regular store for fear that another dude owns it. “I don’t want to buy a T-shirt and then go out to lunch and see someone else wearing the same thing,” Levine says in the new issue of Men’s Health. “I want my clothes to be unique. Not necessarily expensive, just one of a kind.”

So with that in mind, Levine puts a lot of thought into selecting those T-shirts. And even though they might look like basic Hanes to everyone else, what’s important to him is that he knows they’re not. The singer usually finds the tops at vintage shops because, “I also want them to have a story, a history, some meaning.”

In addition to his tees with history, the Maroon 5 frontman loves formalwear, saying, “[At] night I’ll throw on a suit and go out looking like a businessman.”

But it’s what he wears when he’s not on the red carpet or taping The Voice that really left us surprised — when he relaxes at home, Levine prefers something a bit, well, tighter. “I love waking up, throwing on some yoga pants, and hanging out all day looking like a psycho,” the singer reveals. His words, not ours.

For more Levine, pick up the March issue of Men’s Health, on newsstands Feb. 5. Tell us: Do you like Levine’s style? What do you think of guys wearing yoga pants?

Mr Photoman/Splash News Online

Sean Stewart, who has been dating Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Adrienne Maloof recently, popped up in Las Vegas Wednesday night without his reality star companion.

And he apparently brought his appetite!

Stewart, 32 and the son of rock icon Rod Stewart, who has drawn attention for dating Maloof, who at 51 is almost 20 years his senior, dined at the Planet Hollywood restaurant Meatball Spot with the hotel's CEO Robert Earl. Top Chef contestant Carla Pellegrino prepared Italian delights for the pair, which included starters such as baby arugula salad, the eatery's popular Garbage Salad (which features salami, pepperoni and two different cheeses), mushroom risotto and macaroni and cheese.

For the main course, the men enjoyed chicken meatballs with classic tomato sauce, classic meatballs with spicy meat sauce, veggie meatballs with pesto sauce and a half-tray of pizza topped with artichokes, parmesan, prosciutto and black olives. Stewart also took a half-tray of margherita pizza to-go.

Maloof, who finalized a divorce with former husband Dr. Paul Nassif in November after a contentious split, has said her connection with Stewart started as a business relationship and then it evolved into something more, telling PEOPLE their burgeoning relationship is "casual, real casual."

Sarah Paulson Is Freaked Out by Her Own Show, American Horror Story

Sarah Paulson, on American Horror Story

Michael Yarish/FX

It's a good thing American Horror Story wrapped up its second season Wednesday night. One of its stars, Sarah Paulson, can sleep a little easier now.

"I can't watch it at night and I'm on it," the Emmy-nominated actress, 38, tells the Associated Press.

"There are some people who like to be scared and I understand that, but I am not one of those individuals. I like to cozy up with a nice book and a bath and a teddy bear. I am not interested in being terrified before I go to sleep."

It's been a breakout year for the FX horror show, and for Paulson personally. One highlight was when Miley Cyrus, a fan of the show, started following Paulson on Twitter. "@MsSarahPaulson I can't WAIT a whole week until the next episode!" the pop star wrote at one point.

"That was pretty wild," Paulson tells the Huffington Post. "I think I tweeted her back like, 'Are you kidding? Did you follow me?' Miley Cyrus watches American Horror Story? I couldn't understand."

Paulson also earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her work on the HBO movie Game Change. She didn't win, but was still thrilled.

"It's okay to sit in the Golden Globe room and look around and think, 'Oh, Helen Mirren's a loser tonight, so is Nicole Kidman. Meryl Streep lost tonight. Jessica Lange didn't win.' If you're gonna be in the company of losers, that's the company to be in."

She adds: "I definitely have felt how wide-reaching this season has been in terms of people who have come up to me in restaurants and in New York, walking down the street. It's wild."

Michelle Kwan Shed 'So Many Tears' on Wedding Day

As Michelle Kwan, dressed in a cascading veil and a classic ivory gown, walked down the aisle on Jan. 19, the figure skater was filled with the emotion of a bride on her wedding day.

"The whole energy came from family and friends," she says of the ceremony in Providence, R.I. "People were crying. There were so many tears shed, especially from me!"

Her new husband, White House staffer and Coast Guard Lieutenant Clay Pell, was also swept up in the moment. "As she was walking into the church, I could feel her," he tells PEOPLE. "I could feel this energy, this sense of grace and movement and comfort to me the whole time. This contentedness, whether we were holding hands, or hugging, or kissing – she has such warmth for me and I just felt this fire the whole day, and I still do."

Although not everything at the First Unitarian Church went as planned, the couple improvised. "The Christ candle didn't light because the wick had gone down," Kwan says. "We had both of our candles and everyone was staring at us, and we're like, 'It's not lighting!' So Clay took one of the matches and stuck it on there, we lit the match, and everyone started clapping. It turned out perfect."

After the couple walked through an arch of sabers formed by Pell's friends in the Coast Guard, they led guests in lighting sparklers before entering the Hope Club for dinner and dancing.

Olympic champion figure skater Brian Boitano, 49, spoke at the reception. "It was hard because I couldn't look at her too much because I get kind of emotional," Boitano tells PEOPLE. "It's like a little sister growing up. My brotherly instincts are on the high end for her! I think she's incredibly loyal and she is truly filled with so much grace on and off the ice."

Kwan, 32, and Pell, 31, who got engaged in September, chose "We've Only Just Begun" for their first dance. Kwan's sister Karen, 34, "tried to choreograph it," Pell says, "but we went off-script a little bit."

"We were having the time of our lives," Kwan says. "We were supposed to twirl but where the button goes to bustle my dress, it ripped off, but Clay loves to dance."

Turning to Pell, Kwan adds, "You danced like no one was watching, or people were watching but you didn't care because you were having the time of your life. I love that!"

Adrienne Maloof Steps Out with Sean Stewart

Adrienne Maloof and Sean Stewart

Splash News Online

After her bitter divorce battle, Adrienne Maloof is apparently getting back into the dating scene with a little help from rock royalty two decades her junior.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 51, has been getting close with Sean Stewart, 32, son of the legendary British rocker Rod Stewart.

"Adrienne is enjoying dating," a source close to Maloof tells PEOPLE.

The pair were spotted kissing as they left the Crustacean restaurant in Beverly Hills on Saturday. Maloof later told TMZ.com of their age difference: "Age is just a number."

She added: "It's about how good of a person you are. ... [Sean] is a very funny guy. He's very giving, he mentors at the mission, works with at-risk children, and gives his time and money to get children off the streets."

Stewart has had his share of bumps in the road, too. He appeared on season 2 of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew after battling substance abuse.

The Stewart men have a thing for older women. Rod's first big hit, back in 1971, was "Maggie May," which told the autobiographical story of a young man involved with an older woman.

Jenna von Oy Blogs: The Magic of the Holidays

Celebrity blogger Jenna von Oy is a new mama!

Best known for her roles as Six on Blossom and Stevie on The Parkers, von Oy is also a musician who has released two albums and is set to publish a book, The Betweeners.

von Oy, 35, wed Brad Bratcher on Oct. 10, 2010, and resides in Nashville with her husband and five dogs.

They welcomed their first child, daughter Gray Audrey, on May 21. She is now almost 8 months old.

In her latest blog, von Oy reflects on the spirit of Christmas — and celebrating the holiday with Gray.

You can find her on Facebook and Twitter @JennavonOy, as well as posting on her weekly blog, The Cradle Chronicles.

I realize it’s January now, and you’ve probably taken down your holiday lights. You’ve stowed the stockings, eaten all of the cookies and put away the gifts. But in my house, the Christmas spirit is still alive and well. Christmas has not left the building. Our tree is still whiling away the hours in our living room, and it isn’t because I’m lazy or haven’t found time to return everything to the attic. I just wanted to wake up to it for one more week, to enjoy the season a bit longer, to absorb the hope and happiness it brings.

Christmastime has always been truly magical for me. I believe it isn’t just a time of year; it’s a state of being. Regardless of your spiritual upbringing, it’s a season for togetherness, joy, peace, and goodwill. It’s a time to treasure those you love, in a profoundly meaningful way … especially your children. There’s no other season that incites wonder quite like Christmas, and seeing it through the eyes of my daughter for the first time was nothing short of miraculous. We have begun the holiday memories she will think back on fondly one day.

It inspires me to reminisce about my own special Christmas moments, especially those shared with my siblings: penning wish lists for Santa, trudging through snow to choose the “jolliest” tree we could find, hanging stockings on our mantle, putting our boots out in celebration of the German holiday of Saint Nicholas (the boots would get filled with nuts, fruit and other goodies), baking cookies and over-decorating them, festooning our tree in the ornaments we’ve collected each year since we were born, and dancing maniacally to “The Nutcracker Suite.”

I miss the winter wonderland of our East Coast upbringing: ice skating on the pond behind the home in which we were raised, watching snowflakes blanket the ground like frosting (it just begged for snowmen and snow angels to be made), sledding down our driveway in makeshift toboggans, and warming up in front of the fire with mugs of mulled cider. Those were the days!

But it isn’t all of the “deck the halls” and “fa-la-la” that made my spirit bright. Most importantly, the holiday season meant time spent with my family. It meant hunkering down out of the bitter cold and playing board games, while Burl Ives sang “A Holly Jolly Christmas” in the background. It meant attending midnight mass on Christmas Eve, and listening to my dad’s beautiful voice resonate from the choir. It was the joy of finding the perfect gift for my sister or brothers, and the glee of watching them unwrap it.

Even in adulthood, I find the Christmas magic hasn’t gone anywhere. It’s still in my heart, though its style has morphed a bit. Now I get to celebrate with my own little family, embracing long-held traditions while creating new ones with my husband and daughter.

I thought it might be fun to share some of them with you. I warn you, if you are feeling a bit of “bah humbug” and want Christmas to just go away already, this may not be the blog for you … I’ll begin with our “infamous Christmas tape.”

Me back in 1980 – Courtesy Jenna von Oy

Many years ago, my siblings and I acquired a cassette tape of a schizophrenic compilation of Christmas music. It contains everything from Mahalia Jackson’s “Go Tell It On The Mountain,” to Johnny Mathis singing “Sleigh Ride,” to the Philadelphia Orchestra playing the “Hallelujah Chorus.” Like I said, it’s a wacky mix of tunes. Regardless, it’s our auditory mascot during Christmas. A year without hearing this crazy collection of songs would be a sad year, indeed.

The four of us used to jam to it while trimming the tree, and it was almost always accompanied by our crooning at the top of our lungs and dancing wildly around the living room. This was typically followed by a period of breathlessness and tearful laughter. My poor parents either hid or videotaped it. Want to know how to shed the pounds from over-indulging in Christmas cookies? The routine I just mentioned will definitely do it. I’ll spare you any sort of visual, but take my word for it … it’s a special breed of insanity aerobics.

The calamity often occurred into the wee hours of the morning, since we were generally high on sugar when it all went down. We found that the addition of hot cocoa or eggnog greatly improved our stamina. I’ve long suspected this display of madness would frighten away potential suitors or spouses, but I’m happy to report Brad has stuck around despite this tradition. He has witnessed it on several occasions and, while he has declined any participation in it, he hasn’t disowned me yet. :)

I must admit it wasn’t quite the same this year without my siblings around to share in my decorating dance-a-thon. Sadly, leaping across the kitchen via Skype just doesn’t have the same effect. This didn’t stop me, however, from showing my daughter what the hype is all about. I transferred that wonderfully awful cassette tape to my iPod, and Gray and I danced like no one was watching. She was all smiles and laughter. I can only hope the Christmas enthusiasm runs through her veins, as it does mine!

Another family tradition involves our ongoing ornament collection. My mom began the custom of gifting each of us kids with a yearly ornament, beginning at our births. The keepsakes have always served as a reminder of the wonderful memories we shared that year, often depicting something meaningful we experienced. For example, the first year I visited France, I received a mini Eiffel Tower to suspend from the pine branches. When I played “Molly” in a regional production of Annie at the age of six, I got a Little Orphan Annie ornament. It’s neat to go back through the years to see what stories our tree adornments conjure up!

Brad and I are continuing this collection with Gray, and she ended up with several ornaments this year. I hope they will always be a reminder of her first Christmas, and I look forward to passing them along to her once she is married and has a family of her own.

This tradition actually gave way to a new one as well … A few weeks before Christmas, once our main tree was already dressed and lit with the normal accoutrements, Gray got to pick out a smaller tree to host all of her special ornaments. She also had the honor of placing the first decoration on the larger one. Now that Christmas is over, we are going to find a spot in our yard to plant the sapling. I think it’s a great way to show her the importance of giving back to the earth, and it will be a neat project for us as a family.

The side benefit of this new tradition is that it helps to satisfy my need for a real evergreen in the house. Though I grew up in a family where we never dreamed of putting up a plastic tree, I’ve had to switch gears a bit in the past few years. Two words for you: Basset Hound. Evidently Christmas trees are the equivalent of a five-star gourmet meal to our sweet Mia, and the ornaments are her canine caviar. She will take any opportunity to snack on the branches if they are real pine, which we found out the hard way.

Needless to say, we’ve had a huge plastic deal ever since. At least the smaller tree that Gray chose fits on a tabletop, where it is out of reach! Mia’s Scrooge-like master plan has officially been thwarted. Now if I could just keep our pug, Bruiser, from unwrapping presents before Christmas morning…

So now that you know some of our special yearly customs, here’s an idea of how Gray’s first Christmas went down: I suppose it began the first week of December, with our official Christmas photo shoot. Though attempting to get all three of us to smile simultaneously was documentary-worthy, I’m thrilled to say it actually happened.

I give full credit to the patience of our photographer, Lila, who also happens to be one of my best friends. Since she has two children of her own, she’s well aware of the trials and tribulations of photographing a child in the throes of the naptime hour. Fun was had by all, especially when a tantrum began rearing its ugly head as we approached the agreed upon location. Granted, Gray immediately perked up when she saw the camera turn its focus onto her. Go figure.

My mom spent the first two weeks of December with us, and we got to bake cookies and peanut brittle together … Okay, I’m lying. I spent the time trying to keep my daughter’s hands out of the flour and butter, while my mom wound up doing the bulk of the work. I think I got more exercise during the whole affair, but my mom put in the baking time. She has been generous enough to tell everyone we made the tasty treats together, but I thought I should set the record straight; I was on baby duty. The cookies were mostly her doing. (Thank you, Mommy!)

The neat part was that she got to be here for a plethora of Gray’s first holiday experiences, such as picking out the baby tree, decorating the house in its holiday attire, and the aforementioned family photo extravaganza. It was a very special time for us, and made it feel a lot more like Christmas. (I should also point out that the number of gifts Gray wound up getting virtually doubled in size, thanks to my mother and mother-in-law. Grandmas sure do love to spoil their grandbabies!)

One other adventure my mom got to be present for was Gray’s first picture with Santa. We waited until a weekday morning, to avoid crowds, and headed over to experience all that is jolly old St. Nick at the mall. I’ll be honest — my cynical side anticipated a fraud. I envisioned a scary, spiked eggnog-breathing, smoker’s cough-hacking, faux-bearded, senile, skinny guy in a fat suit, smiling at all of the children in a way that makes every mother’s stomach turn.

First Picture with Santa – Worldwide Photography

I couldn’t have been farther off. This guy was the real deal. And when he said to Gray, “I’d take you to the North Pole if I could,” I actually believed he meant it in the sweetest way possible. Santa was the kindest man I could have asked for. And you know what? Gray knew it too. My little girl, who has been battling some serious bouts of separation anxiety, reached out for Santa like she’d known him all her life. The photographers said she was the first kid all day to smile for a photo … which made my day almost as much as it made theirs!

On Christmas morning, Bruiser demonstrated how presents should be opened (in his world: frenzied and with no regard for content…). Gray sort of got the hang of it, though next year will be more of a sight to see, I imagine. We took it easy with gifts this year … quality not quantity. Instead, our gifts were mostly in the form of time together, since my husband got a week off from work.

It was such a joy to cuddle up together on the sofa, even if it is nowhere near large enough to comfortably fit all of our human and canine family members. We watched time-treasured classics such as Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer and the original version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. In a very merry post-gift unwrapping fatigue, Gray fell asleep on her Daddy’s chest and took a little nap. Brad said it was the best Christmas present he could have received. Sometimes the most cherished gifts don’t come in a package tied with ribbon.

Moving on to a slightly less magical subject, many friends said they sneezed and vomited their way through the remainder of 2012. Thankfully, we made it through without getting sick. We were desperately trying to spread Christmas cheer instead of germs this year, which is often hard with young kids. I can’t remember the last time I didn’t lose my voice during the holidays, so I was thrilled to get through unscathed.

Then again, you ain’t heard nothin’ until you’ve heard my Darth Vader-esque rendition of “Joy To The World,” which I usually grace everyone with at the mass on Christmas Eve. It brings anything but joy to the world, I can promise you that. Instead, I was able to sing loud and proud this year. Gray even tried to join in! The irony? As I publish this blog, I’m plagued with a cold … at least it allowed me to ring in the New Year first.

Much to our dismay, no snow fell in advance of our holiday here in Nashville. We did not wake up to a white Christmas morning. However, we had just enough of a flurry in the days following, to don boots and gloves and let Gray experience her first snowfall. It was really only a minor dusting, but she was mesmerized and commenced “tap dancing” in the snow.

For those who are currently picturing some fantastic routine involving staccato wings and ball changes, being executed by world-class artists such as Savion Glover and Gregory Hines, you may want to rethink your visual. Our version consisted of my holding Gray’s body upright, while she shuffled her feet around. Snow and dirt were flying everywhere, but my kid was as happy as … well, a kid in snow.

If you kept reading until the end of this post, I’m impressed. Santa’s list isn’t as lengthy as this month’s blog, so I hope you’ll forgive the verbosity. I guess I was swept up in the holiday magic and excitement. Perhaps my New Year’s resolution should include minimalizing my words? :)

I hope you and yours had a fantastic holiday, filled with love, laughter and endless blessings. We wish you many more in 2013, and pray you are surrounded by the Christmas spirit all year long!

Until next time,

– Jenna von Oy

Biggest Loser's Cate Laughlan: I Have Trouble Eating Enough

01/19/2013 at 10:15 AM EST

Cate Laughlan may have lost the title of The Biggest Loser, but she found something important during her three weeks on the Ranch: herself.

"[My trainer Dolvett Quince] brought out in me that I was worth it," Laughlan told reporters after the elimination. "I never realized how little I felt about myself until I got [to the Ranch] and got to working with him."

Laughlan, 28, was the first member of the Red Team eliminated because her teammates believed she had the support system to succeed at home.

The team "had two really great weeks in a row but you can't pull big numbers all the time," said Laughlan, who left her elimination vote up to chance and selected a teammate's photo at random with her eyes closed. "I knew that all of us in our own way [were] strong enough to do it at home."

And now the newly confident student from Ransomville, N.Y., who says she has struggled with her weight as long as she can remember, has crossed a major milestone: dropping below 200 lbs., and reaching "one-derland."

"That moment was unbelievable," Laughlan said of reaching a weight she had not seen since her early teens. "When I saw the scale, it was a wonderful dream come true. I took a picture."

Most recently weighing in at 187 lbs., Laughlan has found herself in an unusual diet predicament. She is having trouble eating enough calories!

"I never dreamed I'd have a problem eating enough," said Laughlan, who started her Biggest Loser journey at 237 lbs. "It's easy to fill 2,000 calories with garbage. It's not as easy to fill 1,100 calories with good food."

Laughlan is eating a lot of bright, colorful vegetables and lean proteins like chicken, fish and the occasional pork tenderloin. But there are still healthy dishes she can't handle.

"I still don't like spinach and egg whites. I didn't like it on the Ranch and I don't like it now," she said.

To burn the calories, Laughlan is continuing to train for a marathon – a goal she has always wanted to accomplish – and marvels at the woman she has found along the way.

"When I look in the mirror I see the Cate that I was always supposed to be," she said. "I went from having no confidence to all the confidence in the world."
